Model City explores the landscapes of Ordos, a city shaped by ambitious visions of urban expansion on the edge of China's Inner Mongolian plateau.
Across its vast urban spaces, monumental civic buildings and unfinished residential developments, the city reveals a curious relationship between the future it was designed to accommodate and the reality that followed.
Through these photographs, Ordos becomes a landscape suspended between anticipation and memory. Buildings conceived as symbols of progress take on an unfamiliar character, at times resembling both the architecture of an imagined future and the remains of a civilisation already past.
Moving between documentary observation and speculative imagination, the series explores the distance between the futures we envision and the realities that unfold.
