Shanghai, 2013–ongoing


Concrete Reflections is an ongoing photographic exploration of Shanghai, seeking to capture something of the psychological impression the city leaves on those who live within it. Shanghai has been my home for the past fifteen years, and the series has developed over more than a decade alongside a city shaped by continual construction, demolition and renewal.


Through a process of walking and observing I find moments of stillness and unfamiliarity everyday spaces. Places that might otherwise seem ordinary take on a different character, reflecting the sometimes strange experience of living in a city experiencing constant change.


Beyond documenting Shanghai's physical transformation, Concrete Reflections explores the relationship between the city and the people who inhabit it, and how the spaces we build can shape our sense of place, belonging and isolation.


Architecture becomes both a record of transformation and a psychological space, shaped by the tension between permanence and transience, connection and alienation.

《凝固映像》是一项持续进行的上海摄影探索，试图捕捉这座城市在生活于其中的人们心中留下的印象。上海是我过去十五年来生活的地方。十余年来，这一系列作品也随着城市不断的建设、拆除与更新逐渐发展。

通过行走与观察，我在日常空间中寻找静止与陌生感的瞬间。那些看似平凡的场所，有时会呈现出不同寻常的面貌，映照出生活在现代大都市中那种时而奇异的感受。

《凝固映像》不仅记录上海在物质层面的变化，也探索城市与其居民之间的关系，以及我们所建造的空间如何影响人们对地方的感知、归属感与孤独感。

建筑既是城市变迁的记录，也是一种心理空间，承载着恒久与短暂、连接与疏离之间的张力。

Anthony ReedOrdos, Inner Mongolia &#124; 2021–ongoing

Model City explores the landscapes of Ordos, a city shaped by ambitious visions of urban expansion on the edge of China's Inner Mongolian plateau.

Across its vast urban spaces, monumental civic buildings and unfinished residential developments, the city reveals a curious relationship between the future it was designed to accommodate and the reality that followed.

Through these photographs, Ordos becomes a landscape suspended between anticipation and memory. Buildings conceived as symbols of progress take on an unfamiliar character, at times resembling both the architecture of an imagined future and the remains of a civilisation already past.

Moving between documentary observation and speculative imagination, the series explores the distance between the futures we envision and the realities that unfold.

	Luminous City

Luminous City is a photographic meditation on Changsha as a site of rupture, reinvention, and projection. Moving through the city at night, the series traces an urban environment where architecture becomes spectacle and illumination replaces history — neon towers rising not simply as buildings, but as symbols of aspiration, acceleration, and forgetting.
